Emelie Chhangur is an artist and award winning curator and writer based in Toronto, where she works as the Assistant Director/Curator of the AGYU. Over the past decade, she has developed an experimental curatorial practice in collaboration with artists. Chhangur is interested in how exhibitions and texts perform to create unique interpretative experiences as well as in finding ways to enact activisms from within an institutional framework, believing the contemporary art gallery should serve a social as well as aesthetic function. While she makes single channel videos and installations, which are shown nationally and internationally, questioning the nature and function of a contemporary art gallery is her primary art project at the moment.

Dyan Marie works in sculpture and photography and is an early innovator of digital imagery. She also responds to urban situations with publications, banner projects, public art, curating, walking systems, photography, community initiatives, festivals, texts and poetry and is a founder of C Magazine, Cold City Gallery, Walk Here, Dupont Projects, DIG IN, BIG: Bloor Improvement Group, Bloor Magazine and creative director of Bloordale BIA and the BIG On Bloor Festival. Dyan received the City Soul award from the Canadian Urban Institute and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Metal among others honors from city, provincial and federal government. Ontario College of Art: AOCAD and University of Waterloo: MFA

Jon Sasaki makes site and context-responsive work that addresses the fraught nature of human interactions. Drawing from a background in relational art, Sasaki is interested in setting up open-ended participatory situations that act as catalysts for meaningful interpersonal interactions, both convivial and discordant. He is interested in expectations and outcomes, and looking at how sustainable enthusiasm is when the two are not congruent.
