The Book launch in Tokyo: OrNamenTTokYo
On 22nd Sep. 2016 at NICA:Nihonbashi Institute of Japan.
東日本大震災が起きた2011年は、誰もが不安と疑念で一杯でした。当時は日常を過ごす住まいとしての東京が、得たいの知れない大都市となって恐怖に感じられたことは確かです。そのように、都市とは生態系のように多面的で有機的にさまざまに変容するものだと思います。都市考学の断片ともなるべき考察を行うためにイギリスを拠点にするセオリスト＋アーティスト／建築家の2人の女性、ヴェリーナ・グファダーとメルス・ロドリゴ＝ガルシアが、ArtAutonomy Network［AAN］と共同で多面的なイベント『OrnamenTTokyo』を開催したのは、その年の11月のことでした。
それから５年の歳月を過ぎていますが、あきらめずに書籍『OrmanenTTokyo』という形で再現することができました。あのときの『OrmanenTTokyo』は、都市の公共について規制、規範、意思、活用、権利などが個人の視線で再考し、新たな公共概念を追求するワークショップ型イベントでした。しかし、本書籍はイベントをアーカイブ化するドキュメントブックではなく、あくまでも東京を解体し、再編し、再構築する手段であり、都市を考察するためのセオリーブックというべき内容です。そして、多彩な公共のありかたを多ジャンルの手法によって探求を試みた共創型ブックといえるものです。論客は多ジャンルの方々に都市について語ってもらいました。ぜひ、「書物」をもう一つのイベントとしてお楽しみいただけましたら幸いです。
そして、『OrmanenTTokyo』の出版記念イベントを日本橋大伝馬町のアートセンターNICA: Nihonbashi Institute of Contemporary Artsにて開催します。5年前の『OrmanenTTokyo』と同様に、多彩な参加者とプログラムで祝祭を開催したいと思います。ぜひとも、たくさんの方々に『OrmanenTTokyo』の1日イベントを堪能していただければと思います。

There is a brief background of thispublication; “OrnamenTTokyo”
When the Great East Japan Earthquake had happened in March 11th2011, we had been faced in the full of anxieties and misgivings due to theshocks of the massive terrified quake and Tsunami. Since the time of Tokyo, wewere just living in a part of normal lifetimes in the urban society.Aftershocks, we had to change and improve own social minds in order to adaptedourselves undoubtedly our lifestyles in danger of this megalopolis. The urbancity is usually to be in multiply and organically, and to be complied invarious ways continuously. Verina Gfader and Merce Rodrigo García, the twofemale theorists / artist and architect based in London had come in Tokyo andorganised in the multifaceted event:“OrnamenTTokyo” in collaboration with Emiko Kato, a director of Art AutonomyNetwork [AAN] in November 2011.
Since Five years later, we fainally will make the Book launch of“OrnamenTTokyo” so that to celebratethis golden publication of“OrnamenTTokyo”. This special event is held for rethinking in terms of theindividual the regulation, norms, wills, practices, rights around thepublicness and we try to reach the finalization of new public concept. Thebook, on the other hand, is not a documentation to archive the Tokyo event in2011, but rather a theory book to examine the city in the ways of demobilizing,reediting, and reconstructing of Tokyo: a book is actually searching forvarious modes of the public in multidisciplinary approaches. A variety oftalented writers from multidisciplinary fields participated in this bookproject. We hope that the “book” would be enjoyable to celebrate for all people by itself.
